Comparison
Immersive Translate alternative for language learners
Updated · Written by LangBox, so read it as a vendor's comparison
Immersive Translate is a broad bilingual translation tool: web pages, documents, video subtitles on many platforms and images, with a choice of more than 20 translation engines and apps for mobile. LangBox shares the side-by-side idea and is built around learning: a dictionary that explains a word in its sentence, dictation practice, saved words and courses. If you mainly need to understand content, Immersive Translate covers more ground; if you are learning the language, LangBox adds the practice.
Features of Immersive Translate are listed only as its own site or store listing describes them; where it does not describe a feature, the table says so instead of guessing.
Broad translation coverage vs. follow-through practice
Both tools display translations beside original text, so your choice depends on what happens after reading. If you need broad format support, mobile access, or specific engines to understand content across many sites, Immersive Translate covers more ground. If you want to follow through with contextual word lookups, Anki exports, YouTube dictation, and courses, LangBox connects reading to practice.

LangBox scope and preview limits
LangBox's desktop Chrome extension is separate from its browser tools and learning app. Public preview grants 2M tokens once for guests and 10M every 30 days for accounts. PDF translation requires an account (up to 100MB and 100 pages, stored 24 hours). Full EPUB export handles DRM-free text under 10MB without preserving covers, images, or complex layouts.
