What you can do on a webpage

Translate the whole page, a passage, or one word

LangBox turns webpage translation into a few focused actions: translate the current page in Chrome, translate only a selected passage when needed, and look up a word beside the sentence.

01

Translate the current webpage

Choose “Translate current page” in the extension popup, or use the Translate button at the edge of the page. LangBox processes the page structure; dynamic, complex, or access-restricted pages may not be complete.

Whole-page translation
02

Append or replace the translation

Set Translation layout to Append to keep the original and place a translation below each paragraph. Choose Replace when you want the translated text in place of the original. The setting is saved in the extension.

Reading layout
03

Translate selected text

Select a word, sentence, or short passage and choose “Translate selected text” from Chrome’s context menu. A triple-click also reveals a translate button on the page. One selection can contain up to 5,000 characters.

Passage translation
04

Double-click to look up a word

Double-click a word to open the dictionary popover with the entry, part of speech, pronunciation, translations, and source. Play audio when an audio pronunciation is available, then press Esc or click away to close.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

View all FAQs
Can every webpage be translated?

Page structure affects output quality. Highly dynamic, complex, or restricted pages may not parse completely. AI translations may also contain inaccuracies, so confirm critical details against the original text.

How is this different from Chrome's built-in page translation?

Chrome replaces the page with a translation. LangBox keeps the original paragraph and places the translation under it, so you can read both, double-click any word for a dictionary entry, and bring the words you looked up back for review.

Can I use it on mobile devices?

LangBox is a desktop Chrome extension. You can view this demo on mobile, but web page translation requires desktop Chrome.

Does testing this demo consume my credits?

No. This demo uses pre-written translations and definitions without calling live models. Actual extension output varies depending on the webpage, your settings, and the selected model.

How do I choose between side-by-side and replaced text?

In settings, set Translation layout to Append to keep original paragraphs alongside translations. Choosing Replace swaps the original text with the translation. This page illustrates the Append layout.

How do I translate a selected sentence or passage?

Select the text and choose “Translate selected text” from Chrome’s context menu. A triple-click on the webpage also reveals a translate button. One selection can contain up to 5,000 characters, which is intended for the part you need right now.

What does the dictionary show after a double-click?

The dictionary popover can show the entry, part of speech, pronunciation, translations, and source according to the page language and your settings. When audio is available, you can play the pronunciation. Switch dictionary language and retry if the automatic lookup finds no result.

Can a website be translated automatically on future visits?

Yes. Turn on “Always translate this website” in the extension popup. Future visits to that domain will use the saved preference. You can remove the domain or hide the floating Translate control from Settings.

What should I check if clicking translate produces no result?

Confirm that the page is accessible, a translation model is selected, and you still have an available access method or credit balance. Refreshing and trying again can help. Dynamic, complex, or restricted pages may still contain sections that cannot be processed.
