项目延期：英文邮件怎么写

01 · 读邮件

事情是这样的

你负责网站付款功能。原定 9 月 24 日周四交测试版，但有时不显示付款确认。你要告诉负责人，还不确定能否按时修好。

Subject: Payment flow: revised delivery target and next update

Hi Sam,

We found an issue in the final checks: some payment confirmations are not displaying correctly. We won’t be able to deliver the test build on Thursday, 24 September, as planned.

The homepage is ready, but the payment flow needs another round of testing. We’re aiming to deliver the test build on Monday, 28 September, provided the checks pass. This is a target, not a confirmed delivery date.

I’ve asked Nina to help with testing. I’ll send an update by 3 p.m. SGT on Friday, 25 September, even if the issue is still unresolved. If your demo cannot move, we can show the homepage and leave payments out.

I’m sorry for the disruption. Please let me know whether a homepage-only demo would be useful.

  • provided the checks pass 说明周一交是有条件的；周五下午 3 点给通知才是定好的事。
  • 邮件分清了做好的首页和出问题的付款，也提议了先演示一部分。

常用表达

We won’t be able to … as planned.
我们没办法按原计划……先说清哪件事变了，别只说“遇到困难”。
We’re aiming to …, provided …
我们的目标是……，前提是……用来表达有条件的目标。明知做不到的事别这么说。
I’ll send an update by …, even if …
哪怕……，我也会在……前告诉你进度保证何时告知进度，不保证还没确定的修复时间。

03 · 自己写一遍

你原定 10 月 6 日周二交客户报告。文字部分写好了，数据还没核对完。目标改为 10 月 8 日周四交，前提是数据核对过关。给 Taylor 发邮件：可先发文字稿，并保证周三下午 2 点（SGT）前再告知进度。别保证周四一定能交。
