Actual LangBox acceptance results — 20 September 2026 Source: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll (1865), Project Gutenberg ebook 11, https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/11 . Original prose is public domain in the US; check your jurisdiction. The new source layout and synthetic test table are dedicated to CC0: https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/ . No modern illustrations or publisher typesetting are included. alice-langbox-zh.pdf: unedited PDF exported from the production LangBox reader after uploading /samples/alice/alice-text.pdf. English to Simplified Chinese; two pages; model deepseek/deepseek-v4.1-flash; observed processing time 318.828 seconds. Both pages rendered and were visually checked for clipping, missing paragraphs and changed quantities. Nine feet was preserved. Wording can be awkward; no independent language review has been completed. This one test is not a speed or quality guarantee. EPUB: /samples/alice/alice-excerpts.epub completed both chapters in the production reader, English to Simplified Chinese. Original, bilingual and translated views and chapter navigation were checked. The Chinese quotation on the public page is copied verbatim from chapter II. Translated EPUB file export is not available. Prepared multilingual examples elsewhere on the page are not these engine outputs. layout-and-scan.pdf: reproducible diagnostic input with two columns and synthetic table values (9 feet; 12 km). Page 1 contains selectable text. Page 2 is an image of the identical page. layout.png is the input preview. It is a diagnostic fixture, not a translation result. No customer documents, account identifiers or internal job URLs are published. QA visits use analytics=off. These checks do not establish a 90/100 usefulness score; unfamiliar-reader testing and competent language review remain separate acceptance work. layout-and-scan-before-fix-zh.pdf is a FAILED baseline, not an accepted example: both pages completed, but page 2 overlaid the translation on the original scanned glyphs and broke sentences into fragments. Page 1 retained 9 feet and 12 km, although the translated unit wrapped awkwardly. The failure motivated enabling BabelDOC's OCR workaround specifically on scanned pages. This file is retained to make that finding inspectable. Final scan rerun: layout-and-scan-langbox-zh.pdf is the unedited completed production result, retrieved from the worker and verified byte-for-byte by SHA-256. Same input drawing instructions and scan pixels as layout-and-scan.pdf; only test metadata differs to prevent completed-job reuse. English to Simplified Chinese, 20 September 2026, model openai/gpt-5.6-luna, 95.706 seconds from recorded creation to completion update. The configured model differed from the earlier prose test, so these timings and wording are not a controlled model benchmark. Both final pages were visually inspected: the two paragraphs remain readable and separate, 9 feet and 12 km are visible. Limitations: the Chinese unit wraps awkwardly, scan typography differs, and OCR still reads CC0 as CCo in the footer. No claim of exact formatting or independently reviewed translation quality. The scan fixes enabled scanned-page masking, kept OCR column lines contiguous, aligned text bounds, and placed all glyphs above masks. An intermediate result had invisible numeric glyphs despite successful text extraction; it was rejected. The public failed baseline is explicitly retained as a failed test, not as an accepted example.
